NO FURTHER ORDERS FOR 2009

*********************************************************************************************
Because I have a number of other things happening, a separate job, children, study and a exhibition to prepare for.......I will not be taking any further orders for the rest of this year. I will however finish current orders and those already planned (I have accounted for you if you've already been in contact). I will continue auctions/sales of my smaller custom made items on ETSY and I will continue to show photography of my work for portfolio/online promotion while I rant and rave all over internet (as usual) so keep coming by for updates I will still be around :)

Necking......

UPDATE

As far as it goes everything is ticking along quiet nicely - the only major hiccup of recent weeks, has been my health. First there was the wood chopping incident, which luckily only resulted in physio (yes have all limbs intact):P then followed up with the winter lurgy (not to panic it's not the 'swine flu' as far as I know). Anyway cross your fingers for me that I'm back on the healthy train, I think I'm running out of sick days for work!!

Seeking discipline?

I've been collecting pictures of my favorite movie/tv corsets for a while, (which I'm starting to organise and upload to one of my photobucket accounts) - you know like an eyecandy reference/study thingy.

Anyway So last night I caught some 'Legend of the Seeker' (which was filmed right here in NZ) and like WOW - what a damn outfit an a half........totally worth adding to the collection. So with the hunting spirit behind me I tracked down more pics and video footage on the internet..........

Sharing is caring.......

Another Obi Belt & UPDATE

UPDATE

I'm having the school holiday break (bar a few days) which is very nice - I was disappointed at the onset that my body decided to celebrate by getting ill however (who loves ironic). Feeling much better now anyway :)

Ok I suppose this is news,  Ive finally linked my domain name to something other then myspace.......I built a very nice 'wix' portfolio. It's a little less busy and  little more what I needed right now........plus it's easier then building a whole new webpage (I'm suppose to be off the computer for alot longer periods then I am).

Finished my recent customer order from ETSY for a corset and collar, completed a goth girl to go with my man before I finished at work (prior entry), aside from that I have a few other things on the go and plenty lined up.....but mostly just trying to be quiet and get ready for winter........will post more pics soon :p

NZ Sea Monster turns into Stamp!

Ok so sometimes you find random things while your on the internet (it really is all too easy)..........yes I was revisiting my childish interest in world mysteries - what of it??

HISTORY:-
'On April 25, 1977, a fishing vessel named the Zuiyo-maru of the Taiyo Fishery Company Ltd. was trawling for mackerel about 30 miles east of Christchurch, New Zealand, when a large animal carcass became entangled in its nets at a depth of about 300 meters (almost 1000 feet). As the massive creature, weighing about 4000 pounds, was drawn toward the ship and then hoisted above the deck, assistant production manager Michihiko Yano announced to the captain (Akira Tanaka), "It's a rotten whale!" However, as Yano got a better look at the creature, he became less sure. About 17 other crew members also saw the carcass, some of whom speculated that it might be a giant turtle with the shell peeled off. However, no one on board could say for sure what it was (Aldrich 1977; Koster 1977)..........

Despite the possible scientific significance of the find, the captain and crew agreed that the foul-smelling corpse should be thrown overboard to avoid spoiling the fish catch. However, as the slimy carcass was being maneuvered over the ship in preparation for disposal, it slipped from its ropes and fell suddenly onto the deck. This allowed the 39 year old Yano, a graduate of Yamaguchi Oceanological high school, to examine the creature more closely. Although he was still unable to identify the animal, Yano felt it was definitely unusual, prompting him to take a set of measurements, along with five photographs using a camera borrowed from a shipmate. The total length of the carcass measured 10 meters (about 33 feet). Yano also removed 42 pieces of "horny fiber" from an anterior fin, in hopes of aiding future identification efforts. The creature was then released over the side and sank back into its watery grave.........
SEA MONSTER

Some carcass pics from the 70's...... )

On July 20, 1977, as excitement and speculation about the find began to spread, officials from the fish company held a press conference to publicly announce their mysterious discovery. Although scientific analysis of the tissue samples and other data had not yet been completed, company representatives played up the sea-monster angle.

Dozens of fishing vessels from Japan, Russia, and Korea were reportedly streaming toward New Zealand in hopes of resnagging the hastily discarded creature. With so much 'Monster Mania' the Japanese government even decided to issue a postage stamp (issued Nov. 2, 1977) of the sea-serpent.

STAMP

CONCLUSION:- Several lines of evidence strongly indicate that the Zuiyo-maru carcass was a large shark, and most likely a basking shark, rather than a plesiosaur......'

Coffee to Dolly moments....

It begins just like any other visit.....

This is something that happens quiet a lot with Rachel.....she comes for a coffee, gets talked into being my mannequin, then waits to be blinded by the flashing of a camera when I insist on capturing the moment :D
Really - she is well use to it, after so many years of friendship how could she not be??lol....Bless!!

Anyway here is one of the quick pics I took the last time the opportunity presented.....

Admission

Ok....so I have an admission (which I'll do today before I start gushing about seeing Kings of Leon tomorrow)....Since I started reading the 'Twilight' series (which I had to own) by Stephenie Meyer I've become one of those you know 'fans' - yes seen the movie 3 times! In my defence I never stood a chance - Vampire Romance??? Anyway that aside I just wanted to say I was a bit shocked to realise that Robert Pattinson sings 'Let me sign'.....not everyones cup of tea I realise but I adore it, I was so impressed that he sings like this (unexpected you might say). I played 'Never think' to a friend who commented he reminded her of a male Tracey Chapman (since I also like her I didn't see it as a bad comment really)......

Anyway here is 'let me sign' with a kinda 'New Moon' spin (awww beautiful):-

PS For those who don't know who the f**k I'm talking about, the dude who's singing is also 'Edward Cullen' in the movie 'Twilight'.

Hotaru Corset...some pics from the shoot......

Sometime back I did a shoot with one of my favorite corsets 'Hotaru' with Pixi and Adam, so finally I'm posting a few pics. You may recognise the Nene Thomas Anime Fairy on the front, I thought it was such a cutie at the time it inspired me to recycle a t-shirt and turn it into something more corsety..........:P

What a Mongol.....

Mongol

"Do not scorn a weak cub. He may become the brutal tiger"

Ok, so I took a while to watch this one.........but as it turns out 'Mongol' has become one of my new favourites, I was struck by nearly everything about the movie. It really captured my interest, beginning to end.

So who would have thought that Genghis Khan could be so charming?? Played by Tadanobu Asano who I have to say is rather gorgeous :) (Ok so my list of hot movie 'Warlords' is growing  -  Gerard Butler AKA 'Attila the Hun' is no longer solo)LOL :P.

And something for the perverts .........

Friendship

For today I remember your smile.....

Today I went an had a look at Jo's exhibition (as mentioned in the last post) - some very very gorgeous corsets on display (as was expected)........yummy yummy work in the steampunk theme too!

But the over all theme of my day was catching up with friends (I can get carried away with the reclusing so this was great) first a little time with Jo, then coffee in the gardens with another friend and finally onto visit Ruth in her new house - she made some lovely muffins with lemon honey spread for afternoon tea, how verrah verrah spoilt I felt :D

And because pictures are always a bonus, here are some old 'inspiration' collages I made quiet some time back (yes I organised my paper work too,  many random things did emerge - you've been warned):-

Little Project Update and Icon Love.......

Ok first I have to comment on the fact that I love this icon - it cracks me up every time I see it. FOTC is awesome!

EVENTS
I'm really looking forward to seeing Bastet Creation's Exhibition this week here in Christchurch, I'm sure she will be displaying some amazing corsetry:-

PROJECTS  (are many)!
I am continuing to work on my half completed projects (what a nice big stash of stuff, why do I keep cutting 'stuff 'out?), slowly finishing pieces for whatever purpose I may have started them for (way back when?)..........while of course continuing with current projects and customer orders. So yes keeping quietly busy in my own little world as usual, let's take a look.......

Recently completed Obi Belt Styles/Underbusts from the stash:-

SPRING BUTTERFLY                                          RED BROCADE & PVC

LEATHER MOCK UP
This is for a future project,  I have a whole heap of leather pieces so could afford a wee play in which to figure out a few details before I go ahead (though I have to admit it looks a little mad at this point, at least you'll get a surprise when it's done).
MOCK UP:-Leather Bustier...... )

WORK
Workroom mayhem is off to a great start for the new year, with lots of fun in designing and creating - I'll see about some photo's of my latest job.
