Victorian Picnic

NO FURTHER ORDERS FOR 2009

Because I have a number of other things happening, a separate job, children, study and a exhibition to prepare for.......I will not be taking any further orders for the rest of this year. I will however finish current orders and those already planned (I have accounted for you if you've already been in contact). I will continue auctions/sales of my smaller custom made items on ETSY and I will continue to show photography of my work for portfolio/online promotion while I rant and rave all over internet (as usual) so keep coming by for updates I will still be around :)

Double Gun Holsters

mood: enthralled

WORK

This week at work Ive been busy making western gun holsters (3x double gun belts to complete in total), I have to say I feel very lucky to have projects that continue to expand my skills with leather work.......not to mention how awesome it is having a 'living resource' passing on and teaching me so much information (bless the boss)!!

Anyway this week I finished x2 of my double gun belts, one in black + one in brown. I really didn't expect there to be so many pieces, though most of the work is in the preparing and dyeing. Once everythings ready they come together quiet quickly.

UPDATE

The fetish ball outfit I made looked great though a few hurdles have made the completion process a bit challenging (getting ill, breaking both my domestic and industrial machines in the same week, not to mention losing my eyeleting tools) - lucky my customer was so lovely about the whole thing, allowing me to get everything under control first (note to self:- the unexpected always happens when you run short of time).

I took a trip to lapco this week to stock up on goodies for the x-mas holidays (yes I have plans), got another dye for my gorgeous hand press so now it's eyeleting like a dream (my machines are running again too thank goodness).

My exhibition is just around the corner mmmmmm 14th December actually, not to sure how thats going to go but I hope to have at least dressed my two new mannequins, and a few half torsos for the wall. After that it's my orders again (the 2 wedding dresses seem due for my full commitment).......I'll post some pics as I make progress.

Ok so when I haven't been busy with 'the busy' my newest endeavor is learning to roller blade (actually Cleo the dog drags me around the park and I try to stay upright while traveling at high speed), but that has at least given me an excuse to take time for fresh air! Otherwise I'm likely to be found on the couch watching 'Eastwick' or 'Warehouse 13'(see I need an excuse for fresh air)lol.

Dyeing Man's Chaps

WORK

I just recently finished a pair of replacement leather chaps for the costume hire......yay for cool projects! This time I also had the job of dyeing the leather first, my boss wanted a slightly antiqued look so we played around with a few colours/techniques on scrap leather.

The Exciting Hand Press

How very exciting.....a couple from work were out at the Swap Meet a few weekends back, and in their browsing found a very old run down Hand Press for putting in eyelets. After restoring it to working order and giving it a gorgeous paint job I have become the lucky recipient :D

Ok time to post some more pics of the leather projects I've finished up at work....
it's been so much fun and of course lots more learning too (even without out that I really do love the leather machine).

And of course hopefully some pieces for my exhibition in December, though I will avoid getting too stressed about that - after all I can always exhibit previously made items if need be (it's just for promotional purposes at the end of the day).

My birthday celebrations were fantastic.....much fun with the dressing up and lots of  treats from my friends  -  the brassier went down a real hit, so did the zambuca, LOL and the 'Team Jacob' cake was hilarious....I'll post a few pics sometime soon.

and is a Mixed Media Group Art Exhibition - so no set theme :)
It runs from 14th to the 18th December.

Comic Character....Miss Tempest Inspires

I just had to share this picture from http://c-sar.deviantart.com/ who came across Miss Tempest from the 'Vintage Viper' shoot on deviantart and felt compelled to give her wings. This was due to the fact she reminded him so much of a pre created comic character he's working on......



Hopefully I can show you a pic or link to the original artwork at some stage, anyway very cool of him to tell me and show me what he's working on (yay for inspiration)!
